The topic of today’s semi-daily creative writing prompt is (drum roll please!): The Night Sky Conspiracy

Writing prompt:

Write a story about a character who notices a strange pattern in the stars and realizes its a message only they can understand. What does the message say, and how does it change their life?

Inspired enough already? Then go to town with it!

If you need a little more to get those creative gears a-turning, then do a little roll of the dice.

Roll the dice for the following guidelines:

Don’t happen to carry a dice in your pocket?

Then use this online dice or another similar one if you must.

Now roll the dice for the setting of your story:

1. a small town in the 1950s
2. a big city, modern day
3. the 19th century, you choose the place
4. the Middle Ages in Spain
5. the year 2135 on another planet
6. your choice

Now roll the dice to set what kind of message they read:

1. one of peace
2. one of horror
3. one of carnage
4. one of magic
5. one of beauty
6. your choice

As always, cheating is allowed…in fact, it’s encouraged. Creativity is, and should always be, an untameable beast.
